You feel like leaving your spouse, you find no more pleasure in your marriage, you are so tired of him/her… you think, it can’t be God’s will that you have to suffer with your partner ? You need to know, if you ought to divorce ?
Juanita Bynum, beaten by her husband, is not going to reconcile with her husband Thomas Weeks. She is supposed to be a “prophetess” , a woman hearing from God ( they say so ). Is she right ? If it were right for her to divorce her husband, would it be o.k. for you too ?
Paula White and her husband seperated. They did not give a specific reason therefore and declared to remain good friends.( Woman, thou art loose ?) Why divorce, if none of both has committed adultery, which is according to the bible, the only justification for leaving one’s partner in the marriage.
I am not going to discuss both divorce cases. They are just two examples of christian ministers which could, or have already done so, set new standards. Whom are we supposed to follow ? It seems to be enticing to follow Juanita in case your husband did wrong to you , or to follow Paula in case you do not like staying with your husband anymore. What is becoming for them, can still be wrong, or, in the light of the scriptures, a sin and violation of God’s commandment.
How are you going to solve your case ? Do you care, what Jesus says ? Have you read the letter to the Ephesians , chapter 5 ? Do you know, what God’s saints are supposed to do ?
Would you like to act against the will of God, just because you feel like following your emotions and your own schemes ? Are you sure to divorce and do you feel okay with it ?
